A girl catches a last-minute flight to Maui. A boy finds the girl on the shores of Ka’anapali. Something strange and something familiar pulls them closer. They have sex on the beach and spend the week together. The week ends. The girl is 32. The boy is not.
Sideshow Theatre Company follows up its smash-hit production of Stupid Fucking Bird with a sly, delicate, and very funny world premiere by Hansol Jung.
Approximate run time: 80 minutes, without intermission

Narciso is a proud graduate of Columbia College Chicago. He has worked with Steppenwolf, Victory Gardens, Long Wharf Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, Chicago Children's Theatre, A-Squared Theatre Workshop, CIRCA Pintig, dueEast Theatre Company and Shaking the Tree. Narciso is also a singer-songwriter, performing under the moniker Seeso (seesomusic.com). He can be seen performing and teaching workshops at ukulele festivals across the country.

Katy is an artistic associate with Sideshow where her credits include Stupid Fucking Bird (Mash) and Idomeneus (Monster/Ensemble). She also can be seen wrestling in CLLAW (Chicago League of Lady Arm Wrestlers) events as Hillary Rod-Arm Clinton. She has acted in Chicago with Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Steppenwolf, Goodman, Building Stage, Vintage Theater Collective, New Beast and Collaboraction. She is a stakeholder in the Backroom Shakespeare Project, co-founded Pivot Arts, created Chicago Movieoke, and is newly a cheerleader with Mucca Pazza. She graduated with a BFA from the University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theater Actor Training Program.

George is elated to be premiering in his first Sideshow Theatre production. Other Chicago credits include The Other Place (Profiles Theatre), Ching, Chong, Chinaman, My Asian Mom (A-Squared Theatre Workshop), Much Ado About Nothing (Dear Stone Theatre), Six Characters in Search of an Author (Mental Notion Society), Short Acts, Scent of Home, Mr. and Mrs. Laquesta Go Dancing (CIRCA-pintig), Fahrenheit 451 (Otherworld Theatre) and El Stories (Waltzing Mechanics). George is an ensemble member with Otherworld Theatre and Chicago Artists Network where he most recently directed Jerry and Tom by Rick Cleveland. George is graduated with a BA in theatre and English from Ripon College and is represented by Stewart Talent.

Hansol Jung’s work has been developed at the Royal Court (London), New York Theatre Workshop, Bushwick Starr, Asia Society New York, Lark Play Development Center, Seven Devils Playwright Conference, and OD Musical Theater Company (Seoul). Her works include No More Sad Things, Among the Dead, Wolf Play (Ground Floor Summer Residency at Berkeley Rep), Wild Goose Dreams, and Cardboard Piano (O’Neill Theatre Center New Play Conference). She has translated over thirty English musicals into Korean, including Evita, Dracula, Spamalot, and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, while working on several award winning musical theatre productions as director, lyricist and translator in Seoul, South Korea. She is the recipient of the MacDowell Colony Artist Residency, and International Playwrights Residency at Royal Court (London). Her plays have received Honorable Mention from the 2014 Arch and Bruce Brown Playwriting Competition (Cardboard Piano), the Paul Stephen Lim Playwriting Award (Among the Dead), the Pierre-Andre Salim Memorial Scholarship at Yale School of Drama, and was named 2014 finalist for the Ruby Prize (No More Sad Things). Hansol holds a playwriting MFA from Yale School of Drama, and is a proud member of the Ma-Yi Theatre Writers Lab.

Elly is a freelance director, whose previous work with Sideshow includes the co-world premiere of Hansol Jung’s No More Sad Things and a Freshness Initiative workshop series of Janet Burroway’s Boomerang. She recently directed The Distance by Deborah Bruce for Haven Theatre and After Miss Julie by Patrick Marber for Strawdog Theatre. Other Chicago credits include: The Woman Before (Trap Door), Rabbit (Stage Left – Jeff nominated), Happy (Redtwist), Unwilling and Hostile Instruments (Theatre Seven) and The Tomkat Project (Playground Theatre & NY Fringe). Elly was assistant director on Henry V (Chicago Shakespeare Theatre) and Proof (Court Theatre). She is an artistic associate with Stage Left theatre and a reader for Steppenwolf theatre. Elly originally trained in London on the MFA in Theatre Directing from Birkbeck College. Her UK directing credits include: Our Country’s Good, My Balloon Beats Your Astronaut, Beyond Therapy, About Tommy, Copenhagen, Skylight, The Beach and The Zoo Story.

Her recent credits include Learning Curve 3.0 (Albany Park Theater Project and Third Rail Projects), Comedical Tragedy for Mister Punch (House), You on the Moors Now (The Hypocrites), and Thumbelina (Lifeline). Izumi is thankful for all Chicago companies for their supports and opportunities to work on new plays. A recipient of 2014 Michael Maggio Emerging Designer Award, and MFA in stage design, Northwestern University.

Diane is excited to be working with Sideshow for the first time. Area credits include productions with Raven, Lifeline, Rivendell, Court, Next, Northlight, Side Project, City Lit, Babes with Blades, and Wheaton College. Ms. Fairchild was the recipient of the 2013 Jeff Award for Outstanding Lighting Design for her work on Lifeline's A Tale of Two Cities. Eva Breneman is a voice and dialect coach who works in the Chicago region. She is delighted to be back at Sideshow, where she had the great pleasure of working on No More Sad Things last year. Most recent Chicago credits include The Hard Problem (Court); The Columnist (American Blues); A Disappearing Number (Timeline); Pygmalion (Remy Bumppo); King Charles III (Chicago Shakespeare); Discord (Northlight); Arcadia (Writers Theatre); The Compass (Steppenwolf); The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane (Chicago Children’s Theater); The Little Foxes (Goodman Theatre); Posh (Steep Theatre); and Blood Wedding (Lookingglass Theatre Company). Elyse is very excited to be working in her first Sideshow production. She has worked most recently as a stage manager on Piccolo Theatre's Love of Three Oranges and has worked as an assistant stage manager on the House Theatre's Hammer Trinity. When not stage managing, Elyse works as a carpenter and freelance technical director.
Benjamin W. Dawson

Ben is an artistic associate with Sideshow and is overjoyed to be working with this talented group of miscreants once again. He has worked with the likes of the Goodman, the Santa Fe Opera and The History Channel, to name a few. He is currently the associate technical director at Lookingglass Theatre and the production manager at Lifeline Theatre. In his spare time he produces shows in his living room, for aliens and dogs, using only Lego bricks and mini figures.

Claire is a director, teaching artist, and community maker who has trained with SITI Company, the British American Drama Academy, and the San Francisco Mime Troupe. She is also a teaching artist at Lookingglass Theatre and proudly serves as the community engagement associate for Sideshow! Past credits include: dramaturg for Boomerang with Sideshow's Freshness Initiative, Cymbeline with The Waking Theatre (co-director), Sam Holcroft’s Vanya at Stan Mansion (director), and assistant director for Kimberly Senior’s production of After the Revolution at Next Theatre.

Chad is very excited to be working with Sideshow for the first time. Originally from Pittsburgh, he came to Chicago two and a half years ago via North Carolina to join Lookingglass Theatre as their technical director. In his spare time Chad enjoys hanging out with his dog Emmy.
